Windows 7 Quick Launch Disappeared According to Microsoft, the whole of the new taskbar is now merged into the quick launch. Not with any combo of mouse buttons held down. Actually it's very easy to fix any program shortcut on taskbar/quick launch bar in Windows7.

November 9, 2009 John Some time I've spent to find the solution abd bring back my beloved quick launch bar without success… Great job, thanks this is outstanding! two: It recreates the quicklaunch folder exactly in the same path/place it was in vista. It won't show up unless your taskbar is unlocked. I couldn't remember what the path was. But in Windows 7, You can't do either of these anymore, I'm not sure why they disabled this feature. I feel a little bit old and conservative that I always go back to the winxp-logic and look, but for me that is the most logical logic haha November 2, 2011
When the Taskbar is unlocked, there is no check mark next to the option. Anything else will be relegated to the dustbin of tech history. To remove the text labels shown on the Quick Launch toolbar, right-click on the left edge of the toolbar (dotted lines) and from the resulting Context Menu, uncheck both "Show Text Last edited by Hemimax; 2015-09-25 at 17:40. Drag any shortcut, file, folder, drive over the Quick Launch toolbar on the taskbar until you see either Move to Quick Launch or Create link in Quick Launch, then drop the Unlock the taskbar.
If you decide that you no longer want the Quick Launch toolbar, follow the Group Policy Editor steps again and this time, rather than choose Enabled, choose Not Configured.
