What surprises me is that the low level driver for MagicDisk was able to keep the file mounted despite the main application being disabled and even when running in safe mode. I have been using a computer since 1984 and have never ran across this problem. Turning off UAC is not the answer, just as leaving your car unlocked is not a great solution to prevent you from locking your keys in the car.
