If you are not using headphones you could also disable the front panel connection. fixed that annoying bug!!!! By the way, I am using Dell Studio 1535, Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. I'm using an Ausus laptop, so I just have an analog audio jack at the front and that's it.

You Realtek HD Control Panel is still there... Did as DE said clicked on speaker ,then (recording) there was no (stereo mix). I reccommend using program that can be launched from Start->Accessories->Sound Recorder (or something like that).
